>RAUMSTATION

>RAUMSTATION @ Back to Athens 2020, a collective presentation that follows up on the concept and minimalist character of the white rooms and structures of the >RAUMSTATION space in Vienna.

>RAUMSTATION is a Vienna based contemporary arts organisation which showcase and promote contemporary positions and projects in the field of performance, sound, concepts, visuals in collaboration with other international institutions and project spaces. >RAUMSTATION is a non-profit organisation founded in 2017 by Peter Kraus and Andrea Heyer. >RAUMSTATION presentations follow the concept of the minimalist character of the white rooms and structures of the >RAUMSTATION space in Vienna.

In the Installation Raumstation by Miriam Laussegger the space of >RAUMSTATION itself is used as material to divide the pictures in all shades from black, gray to white.
The work Untitled by Sascha Alexandra Zaitseva is formed by the reference to the disposable product - the toilet paper roll. The single elements of the ceramic column build the hand-turned counterpart of the industrially manufactured good of everyday life. The installation Black/White by Andrea Heyer refers to the Greek singer Nana Mouskouri. The symbols the black glasses and the white female dress represent the combination of education with femininity. The video / sound / ready made / installation 'SHUTDOWN' by Peter Kraus generates an atmosphere of the uncanny, by filming neglected rooms of an abandoned airport in Cuba, that was closed in the 90ties. His perspective of camera work suggests the viewer that he himself is the actor of its perception while exploring unknown terrain.
